Eight artists - friends of the Creating Universe Project and members of the Union of Artists of Saint Petersburg painted 16 canvases in a day. They presented one of them to the City Administration. Certainly, the attention of painters was attracted by the Vyborg Castle, majestic and austere against the background of a deep autumn sky and bordered by gold leaves.
“As we expected, the weather helped us this time too: it was just an incredibly wonderful sunny day filled with piercing light,” comments the ideologist of the autumn plein air series, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of Saint Petersburg Petr Konosh. “The nature of Saint Petersburg and regional cities abundant in maples which wear from yellow to burgundy in autumn, oaks, chestnuts, aspens, is simply incredible.”
According to the results of the plein air series, an exhibition is planned for the end of October at which all the created canvases will be presented.
