TEMPLE BUILDING

The Creative Universe Project pays special attention to the restoration and construction of Orthodox temples. Churches and Orthodox shrines are being built and restored in Russia, Belarus, Serbia, Bulgaria and Cyprus. Largely thanks to the support and efforts of the Foundation in Saint Petersburg, the buildings of the Ioannovsky Convent on Karpovka were restored, the Church of St. George the Victorious, the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the Church in the name of St. Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg were erected. According to ancient, miraculously saved drawings and photographs, the Temple of the Nativity on the Sands destroyed in 1934 was recreated from scratch.

Temple of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious in Kupchino, Saint Petersburg

The temple dedicated to one of the heavenly patrons of Russia and the Russian army was built in 1999-2002. On December 17, 1999, with the blessing of Metropolitan Vladimir of Saint Petersburg and Ladoga, the dean of the Nevsky district Archpriest Viktor Golubev consecrated the lower temple in the name of the Nativity. After 4 years, Metropolitan Vladimir of Saint Petersburg and Ladoga performed a great consecration of the upper church in the name of the Holy Martyr George the Victorious. The temple is in great demand and serves as an important spiritual and cultural centre of district, as there are not many churches in Kupchino today.
