Saint-Petersburg through the Eyes of Contemporary Artists
In August, 2015 nine artists from Russia, Ossetia, Italy and Spain spent several days in the Capital of the North and its suburbs as a part of the Creative World Project and painted 35 pictures over this time.
Before that the «Creative World» arranged trips of Russian painters to Europe. The trip of European painters to St Petersburg was arranged in the same manner. It is the first time when foreign artists invited to Russia took part in the trip. Together with their colleagues from St Petersburg they visited different corners of the city on the Neva River as well as they visited Pushkin, Pavlovsk, Peterhof and other outskirts and depicted everything they had seen in their canvases. All foreigners participated this meeting visited Russia and St Petersburg for the first time in their life and according to their own words they were enchanted with the city which fact can be clearly observed in their works. In every picture its author not just depicted city sights but always managed to convey his or her impressions, mood in which he/ she was admiring the landscapes.
The plain-air finished with the picture exhibition “Saint-Petersburg through the Eyes of Contemporary Artists”.
